Interesting couple of days...

I took Adam to the doctor the other day because of the cough that won't go away. The night prior it seemed he was coughing every 30 seconds or so. He had a slight temp, and was just really somber most of the week so far. We get into the doctor's office and, of course, he's no longer coughing... AND no sooner do I tell the doctor about his demeanor lately - my boy starts freaking out on the crinkle paper on the doctor's table - laughing, cooing, stomping his feet, etc. So we got sent home with "it's just a cold"

Well.... Adam wakes up this morning with a slight temp again, and we debated staying home but we took him to daycare. They called about 9am because Adam's temp was about 101. The doctor wanted to see him again so Jenny took him to the doctor. While in the pediatrician's office she saw the same doctor I had seen and he said something to the effect of "I had a gut feeling there was something more when he came in the other day" (yeah, thanks Dr Pricko). Anyway the pediatrician sent him to the hospital for a chest xray and blood work.

Xrays showed something cloudy on his chest but they ruled out pneumonia. His white blood count was elevated, so there's an infection somewhere. So he's on amoxicillin and we are still waiting on results from blood culture (48 hours).

So probably going to be a pretty quiet weekend coming up... Happy Mother's Day!
